Is the City of Chicago giving up on Carlos Zambrano Already?
From Gordon Wittenmyer in Today’s online edition of the Sun-Times –
Carlos Zambrano and Kerry Wood together couldn’t beat Ben Sheets in his return from the disabled list Wednesday at Wrigley Field.
And while that might not mean much in the final days of August, it might make all the difference for the Cubs by the final days of September if Zambrano can’t be the leader of the pitching staff he was in the middle of the season and the dominant ace his $91.5 million contract extension demands.
Notorious BIG once sang, “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems” and I guess that is what Zambrano is finding out the hard way. At least he hasn’t punched any of his teammates, maybe thats what he needs to start pitching better. Someone bring Michael Barret back. But I guess Cubs’ fans are just trying to find something that is going to be the scape goat for this season’s title less run.
