President Clinton v Bill Richardson
Santa Fe, NM,_ After taking on James Carville for his Judas attack the New Mexico governor and former President Clinton are sparing long distance on who said what to whom.
Over the weekend at the California Democratic convention a visibly upset Clinton remarked in a meeting with superdelegates that “Five times to my face he said that he would never do that,” (endorse Obama over Hillary).
Richardson countered that “I never did. I never saw him five times. I saw him when he watched the super bowl with me. We made it very clear to him that he shouldn’t expect an endorsement after that meeting. The Clintons should get over this.” Richardson says he was “very close to endorsing” Hillary but after the campaign got nastier he decided not to do so. Carville and others maintain that he endorsed Obama only after seeing the Michigan primary compromise fade with Obama in the lead. Politics is indeed a full contact sport and not for the meek.
