La Misma Luna a hit that deserves more audience
San Diego, Ca.,_ Under The Same Moon is one of the great films of the year and of this new century! This movie covers the story of modern day immigrant travels in a way that is touching, authentic and very moving. Upon seeing the depiction of family love, values, heartache and sacrifice that these modern day “tired and poor huddled masses” yearning to freely engage in the American Dream, one has to wonder when and how the madness and natives immigrant bashing can and will be quieted forever. The good news is that the American people mostly favor a “path to citizenship” to the newest and largest immigrant wave in decades. The all time leading management expert Peter Drucker, himself an immigrant, said to Cesar Chavez in 1982, “Over the next 40 to 45 years immigration will become a big issue in our country. You have to be the voice of those immigrants.” If Peter was right we only have 15 more years for this cycle to run its course. Hopefully, the next president will come to the aide of this new wave of American dreamers who are the economic lifeboat between recession and depression for all of our countrymen and women.
Meanwhile, back on the screen….La Misma Luna is a must see film. It began as the highest grossing Spanish language film in U.S. history but attendance needs to stay strong. There is something in it for everyone to see and enjoy. Viva los imigrantes!
