Gasol fuels Lakers in win
Los Angeles, Ca.,_ As the Lakers Kobe Bryant is experiencing his best all around year in the NBA the nation is getting a look at a key reason for his and the team’s success – Pau Gasol. The 7′1 center from Barcelona, Spain, was acquired mid season from Memphis after an injury sidelined star center Andrew Bynum. Since then the team has been on a tear and yesterday he enjoyed his first playoff win as a pro.
Gasols led the Lakers in all around play scoring 36 points to go with 16 rebounds, eight assists and three blocked shots. Just as important was his floor play and running on both ends of the court. The Lakers, facing very tough playoff competition, are in position to add another title to the Phil Jackson/Bryant ball club.
