More calls to investigate runaway sheriff
Phoenix, Az.,_ Arizona’s Latino legislators have joined Mayor Phil Gordon’s call for a federal investigation into the vigilante actions of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe “Pink Panty” Arpaio. They have joined the chorus criticizing the racial profiling and reign of terror being waged against all “foreign” looking Latinos. State Rep. Linda Lopez led the group of six Latino Caucus members in their news conference saying, “This has got to be put to a stop. I believe an investigation is fully warranted.” The sheriff, whose fetish for pink panties and punishing residents of his jails, was not moved by the gesture. “I have nothing to fear and will continue to do crime suppression. I will continue to lock up illegals. I will not be intimidated by minority groups.” In the end he will not succeed at his long term goal of racial purity. Latino growth, federal legislation, a rocky economy in love with low wage immigrants and the fact this immigrant country will find its way to honoring and respecting those who labor and sacrifice for our country daily and even in our military. America will go back to its immigrant traditions, so will someone please school the sheriff?
