Barcelona v. Manchester United - 11:45 Pacific Time Live Updates
Yesterday was the first leg of the other semi-final between Liverpool and Chelsea. The match ended as a 1-1 draw but Chelsea head home with an advantage due to the away goal. The literally, last minute equalizer came on an own goal by John Arne Riise. The cross from Soloman Kalou seemed to be dipping and crossed the veteran defender who was trying to head the ball back to where it came from.
Manchester United faced a talented Italian side Roma but were never seriously threatened. After the first leg in Stadio Olimpico Man U. came away with a 2-0 win. Christiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney both netted for the English side. Roma had their chances in both legs but couldn’t put anything past Edwin Van Der Sar.
Barcelona came through with a lot less nervous moments, winning on aggregate 2-0 against Bundesliga side Schalke 04. Although never looking dominate the Blaugrana came through with relative ease and now face a side that has looked dominate in all competitions. Now that Barca are pretty much eliminated from contention for the La Liga title, as Real Madrid run away with their second straight, all of the squads focus should be on getting a result here at home and not allowing any valuable away goals to a side that you can’t afford to give an advantage.
