Kobe leads Lakers up 2-0
Kobe Bryant turned in another spectacular to the Los Angeles Lakers to a 122-107 win against the Denver Nuggets. Bryant led the way with 49 points and 10 assists as the Lakers scored over 120 points for the second straight game.
“Tonight, the way he was going, we probably could have put 10 people on the court and probably wouldn’t have been able to stop him,” said Nuggets star Allen Iverson, who wasn’t bad himself, getting 31 points and six assists.
“I didn’t realize it,” Bryant said when told about his scoring spree. “You just get into one of those rhythms. My teammates were looking for me, it just feels like the ball finds you.”
Pau Gasol, a LosEstadosLatinos.com favorite, followed up his game one performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds. With Kobe Bryant struggling in the first game of the series, making only 9 of the 26 shots he attempted, Gasol led the Lakers with 36 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 blocked shots. With Bryant picking his game up and with Pau backing him up the Lakers postseason future appears bright. Lamar Odom has shown a new comfort level in being the third option as he contributes on the boards and defense mostly but can also beat a lot of defenders with his athleticism and length. The way the Lakers are playing now, it may not matter if Andrew Bynum comes back.
