Speaker Pelosi vetos Obama/Clinton ticket

Washington, DC.,_ On CNN’s Larry King Live show last night House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who earlier stated she wants superdelegates to vote the will of their states voters, said she thought, “No, I don’t think it’s a good idea. I am not one of those who think that would be a good ticket.”

Pelosi who will chair the Democratic Convention in Denver this August sent chills down the spine of Clinton campaigners when she called on the superdelegates NOT to vote counter to the will of the party’s base membership.

Although James Carville pointed out that Clinton won the State of New Mexico and its governor (also a superdelegate) endorsed Obama.

The speaker is right on the ticket, though there is no one more able to bring Latino support than Hillary who far outpolled her rivals in the primaries. Neither brings the other what they really need to gain advantage in the fall. That being said, presidential campaigns are really won by the top of the ticket. The VP can be an asset, but mainly in winning their home state and/or a few others.
