Arizona governor vetoes cops to migra law

Phoenix, Arizona, _ Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano this week vetoed legislation requiring local police to enforce immigration laws.

In vetoing the legislation Napolitano cited runaway costs and duplication of existing order. The state’s government would have spent $100 million in training costs alone.

All that to have police officers with real jobs switchover to hunting down maids, gardeners, nannies and janitors to say, “soy de la imigracion ensename tus papeles!” Such a waste of an idea! HB 2807 was proposed by a Goodyear state representative. LosEstadosLatinos.com is researching the assertion that all Latino lawmakers voted for the measure. For sanity’s sake we hope not and applaud the governor and those Latinos who advocated for the veto.
