Los Angeles, Ca.,_ In the last few days the buzz around city hall here has been Rush Limbaugh’s quick tongued commentary about the Los Angeles mayor. It seems now that he seems to be on recovery from his drug addiction, for which he got no time like thousands of others across the country. Rush is back to being just a great baboso who can’t help test the limits of racial slurring and anti Latino rhetoric. They say it makes him big bucks. It seems that in a report on Hillary Clinton Rush thought it a good idea to drop names. This is how he described his only meeting with the LA mayor. “I shook Clinton’s hand, he left, comes back with the mayor of Los Angeles. I thought it was a Secret Service agent, maybe a shoeshine guy. Turns out he gives me his card, I said, ‘Oh, my gosh, it’s the mayor of Los Angeles.’” One report yesterday said Villaraigosa would have a statement on the incident but a few hours later his press secretary issued another saying there would be no statement. Antonio, this one is not just about you. It seems to us you have an obligation to acknowledge it took place and take advantage of the bully pulpit here to rebuke this type of racist diatribe that harms so many in our community every day. Your public is awaiting your responsible leadership on this one. Psst, if you want something clever to say call George Lopez for advice.
