Both parties searching their past for fall strategy

Washington,DC.,_ As the final primary battles are being closed out the minds and eyes of Barack Obama and John McCain campaigns are fully focused on potential issues and tactical moves that will serve them well. Party strategists are researching and rediscovering former winning teams, individuals and plans that provided victories. Add the newfound and growing Latino voter base to the mix and you have what promises to be an all out national sprint to November’s finish line and the White House keys.

Rest assured they are also double checking their own weaknesses and vulnerabilities along with dumping strategies that did not work in recent losing races. For the Democrats this spells out 1988, 2000 and 2004 on the losing side and what worked in 1992 and 1996. Republicans are looking at the same races to set their courses as well. Both sides are looking at ways to energize their base and continue to grow and enlarge their market share with Latinos and independents. The Dems enjoy their natural support from Latinos in large part due to Republicans not embracing them fully as Americans, past and future. Republicans will counter with claims the Democrats don’t like Black people and that Obama lacks any serious history with Latinos and that their candidate is held in high esteem and regard by Latinos in his home state of Arizona. The dynamics are fascinating and will provide greater opportunities for Latinos to participate in an election that values them and spends significant resources and time currying their favor and their votes. Let the fall campaign battles begin!
