Obama showing signs of steel when tested
Portland, Or.,_ As he gears up for the rough and tumble scrape he will go thru over the next four and a half months Senator Barack Obama is showing the mental and emotional toughness it takes to win and become the president – black, white or half.
The Republicans always resort to subtle attacks and at times the not so subtle. This week President Bush, who has no business being near the fray any longer, tried to sneak into the picture and took a poke at Obama while in Israel when he made some veiled threats about “those” who would appease the Palestinians.
Barack, to his credit, fired right back at the lowest ranked president in history and blasted him for his petty politics unbecoming even a lowest ever ranked American president. That was followed by the Tennessee Republican Party taking a shot at Michelle Obama’s patriotism (something they will hear often) but again Obama came right back and called for them to “lay off my wife.” They say all’s fair in love, war and politics so everything and everybody will be fair game in the next few months. We can expect to see Obama showing the steel and grit of a next president. Latinos will warm up to someone who genuinely works for their votes and also who can stand up for himself and his family.
