Bill Clinton forecasting gloom and doom
Pierre, SD.,_ Former President Bill Clinton has always been a top notch spin doctor but this time he is outdoing himself.
At a campaign stop over the weekend, Clinton went on the offensive about his wife’s chances of winning the presidency. Clinton accused “them” of pressuring Superdelegates and his wife to end the campaign prematurely even though she “can still win this thing.”
The ex-president went on to say that his party’s chances of winning the election would be far less likely if Hillary is not the nominee. Being a good spouse and supporter is one thing but for the nation’s “first Black” president to soft pedal a race based message, again – just ain’t right!
He and Hillary have the rest of their lives to come to terms with what went wrong on their way back to the White House and historical immortality but “that was yesterday and yesterday’s gone.”
The pair have been great for the country over the years and in this current election cycle as they, together with Obama, have inspired a cross generational surge in civic participation among all groups. In their case the Clinton’s are to be credited with riding the wave of Latino political participation without having to “give up” too much on the issues.
We applaud and appreciate them and look forward to their crossing the early June finish line and coming to the side of Barack Obama – our next president! They can and will serve the country and the Latino community well as they lead in the reuniting of their party and doing whatever it takes to win in November!
