Clinton huddle was about “Hail Mary” that didn’t work
Washington, DC.,_ The famed Clinton era is coming to an end today, for now.
Hillary Clinton became the best candidate in the second half of the race. The only problem is that she got too far behind Barack Obama in the first half and no matter how many big states she won, no matter what her last margins of victories the delegate totals remained just out of her reach. LEL congratulates her, Bill and especially Chelsea for a valiant effort.
Though it exploded far more deeply and broadly than they had anticipated the Latino community across the U.S. and Puerto Rico has lots to thank them for as their campaign tied in so very well with Latinos and their issues. Hillary especially became a heroine to so many in the Latino community, especially women and those who admire courage and toughness. Her attraction to Latinos is nothing short of Kennedyesque and the Clintons will not soon forget what Latinos did for them and to keep them in the race every time they seemed close to the exit. They chose her over New Mexico’s popular Governor Bill Richardson which was a statement of confidence. As Hillary finds a way to stand down after today’s South Dakota and Montana primaries Bill was heard to say, “This may be the last day I’m ever involved in a campaign of this kind.” LEL is hopeful the couple can become champions of Latino issues as they help Obama become the next president. History will be kinder to them than the media that pushed hard against them. The lessons learned are legion but her dogged determination is the picture of what campaigns should look like from start to finish.
