Oprah wins Democratic Primary contest

Chicago, Ill.,_ As the curtain comes down on the longest, most competitive, expensive and exciting primary season ever a quick glance over the shoulder of Barack Obama suggests he should thank his stars and every night before going to sleep ask that “God bless Oprah” the other “O” in his life.

It seems so long ago now that Oprah made the announcement that she, the most popular person in America, was supporting a fellow Chicagoan for president. Then she stumped for him in Iowa and got the country focused on her talented, bright, half African American/half white choice for president. Oprah has more successfully bridged the racial divide than anyone ever and her star was placed above Obama’s head. With Oprah’s blessing and the big fund raising event she did for Obama in California, when he was far behind in the national polls, that kept him in the spotlight and was key to his appeal and fundraising surge that has become the envy of every presidential campaign past and present. Oprah is a star among stars and LEL wants to acknowledge her critical role in the choosing of our next president as he gets ready to go to the final round of “campaigning with the stars.”
