Washington, DC,_ Last evening as he was preparing to fly home to Chicago for a few days of well deserved and needed rest Barack Obama ditched his press corps to take a quick run to Hillary Clinton’s home for a Democratic Party huddle of the two top finishers in this year’s historic run for the presidential nomination. Insiders say the two had a cordial discussion on how to bring the party together behind Obama’s candidacy, did not go in depth on the VP spot on the ticket and everyone is now confident Hillary is doing what she needs to do to bow out of the race respectfully and to begin moving her millions of supporters towards the Obama camp. On Saturday at her rally Hillary will thank all those who backed her effort, take her well earned bows for her spirited and stalwart candidacy and perhaps invoke Vince Lombardi’s famous line about how “we did not lose we just ran out of time.” No telling if she will touch on the soft spots that created the opening for Obama to wrest the first place finish from her in the first half of their run this year but she will most certainly establish herself as a force to be reckoned with in the future.
