Man U has had enough from Real Madrid

With all the rumors floating around about Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Real Madrid this summer Manchester United, his current club is trying to put an end to it.

Manchester United have taken the unusual step of reporting Real Madrid to FIFA for what they see as the continued courting of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The double winners want closure on the issue, 13 days after warning the Spanish club to stay silent on the subject of the 23-year-old Portugal winger or else. United believe Real have failed to comply, resulting in a complaint to world football’s governing body. A FIFA spokesman said: ‘I can confirm that we have received an official request from Manchester United to look into the matter. ‘We have only just received the documents so we need some time to analyse them before we can make any decision.’ United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has already voiced his disliking of Real’s public pursuit of Ronaldo, pointing out their major domestic rivals, Barcelona, refrain from public expressions of admiration for other clubs’ players. He is adamant Ronaldo neither wants to, nor will be leaving Old Trafford this summer.

This is the first time I’ve ever heard of something like this happening. But Real has been accused in the past of being a little over zealous in it’s pursuit of talent (here). If this action keeps Ronaldo from donning the white shirt of Madrid many Spanish football fans would be very happy, especially those looking to see Barcelona return to form and compete for La Liga’s title next season. If I were in charge of Man U. the constant struggle with Real would make me want to do something completly crazy to get back at the Spanish Champions. I don’t know something like loaning Cristiano Ronaldo to Barcelona. That way not only would Real not get him, but their biggest rivals would have him at their disposal for free. That would show “Los Merengues” not to mess with any more of your players.
