Hiring Patty Solis Doyle a move in the right direction
Washington, DC._ The Obama machine is slowly moving to get after a relationship with Latino voters, a constituency that he needs to win big in what could be a tight race in November. For some reason his track record does not include that close relationship that needs to be established before the run of your life.
The hiring of Patty Solis Doyle is a good move in that direction especially since anything their campaign has done to date has not yielded strong support from Latinos. In Solis-Doyle they get someone who was a large part of the Hillary Clinton strategy that won the lion’s share of Latino votes in the primary season. She was scapegoated by the Clinton team when they did not secure the nomination by Super Tuesday as they had assumed would happen. Patty Solis Doyle will see this as a new lease on political life and should be able to add to a team that has shown a weak approach to Latino voters thus far in their efforts. Hopefully, she will be listened to and her advice will be followed on Latino outreach. Until there is a VP chosen she should have time to spend on showing them how to communicate with Latinos.
