Andrea Bazan elected to helm of National Council of La Raza

Washington, DC._ NCLR recently elected Andrea Bazan as its new board chair. Bazan is president of the Triangle Community Foundation in North Carolina. Her background and geographic history should bring a new and interesting perspective to the nation’s largest Hispanic civil rights group. She is the organization’s immediate past Vice Chair and prior to her role with Triangle Community Foundation she headed El Pueblo, an advocacy group in North Carolina. The incoming NCLR Chair is a native of Boston who grew up in Argentina. She earned master’s degrees in social work and public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. LEL congratulates Andrea and looks forward to welcoming and seeing her in San Diego next month.
