Antonio Villaraigosa and Barack Obama met this weekend

Miami, Fla.,_ We will soon be reading and writing about the upcoming endorsement of Senator Barack Obama by Hillary Clinton’s former national campaign co-chair, Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The pair met over the weekend behind closed doors at the Inter Continental Hotel. Obama addressed the gathering of mayor’s as did his opponent, Senator John McCain. They discussed the mayor’s role in supporting Obama, how to best roll out the announcement (not by conference call as he did with the UFW) and how the high profile Villaraigosa can help with Latino voters who went for Clinton heavily in the primaries. Look for Villaraigosa to have a high profile slot at the Democratic convention in Denver, something he has dreamed of for a long time especially in the coming year as he prepares for his re-election campaign.
