Ralph Nader comes in from left field to snipe at Obama
Denver, Colo.,_ He may be an aging icon but consumer rights advocate and independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader can still pick em up and put them down, in this case down on Obama whom he accused of “talking white” to appeal to “white guilt.” Nader says he is running again this year because both major parties are just too comfortable with corporations. He says the only difference between Obama and the other Dems who ran is that he is black. Nader said, “I haven’t heard him have a strong crackdown on economic exploitation in the ghettos. Payday loans, predatory lending, asbestos, lead. What’s keeping him from doing that? Is it because he wants to talk white? He doesn’t want to appear like Jessie Jackson? He wants to show that he is not a threatening, another threatening African-American politician. Basically, he is coming on as someone who is not going to threaten the white power structure, whether it’s corporate or whether it’s simply oligarchic. And they love it. Whites eat it up.”
